Below are some links to places that will help you be as awesome as you can. I know this because I'm using them to be more awesome too. I would suggest checking out as many as possible.GameMaker subreddit - Collection of awesome people, making awesome stuff. 'Nuff said, give it a visit.
Wizirdi's Youtube page - This man is great at teaching. His playlist GM Studio- Beginner to Pro Tutorials, is where I would start if you know a little bit about programming, because Wizirdi doesn't use the drag-n-drop parts of GameMaker. He just uses the scripting language, GML, and I suggest you do the same if you want to be awesome. If you're having trouble with GML, check out the next link.
Shaun Spalding's Youtube page, - Shaun has some great tutorials too! The only thing I didn't like is he does drag-n-drop and GML for the most part, which makes the videos take a bit longer. But Shaun goes into more detail explaining whats going on for non-programmers and new programmers, so his videos are a must.
